Happy 90th anniversary, Ukrainian National Federation of Canada (Edmonton branch) and Ukrainian Women’s Organization of Canada, Edmonton Society.
Ninety years ago the founding president, Alberta school teacher Alexander Gregovich and other founding members created an organization that encouraged its members to stand against any attempt to endanger the political and civil liberties of individuals and institutions in Canada. The Federation promotes sacrifice and work for a better future for Canada and places the responsibilities as citizens of this country, ahead of their own personal affairs. They also work hard to continue to preserve the rights, freedom, culture and language for Ukrainians and their future generations. At the same time, the Federation has never lost sight of the importance of continuing the battle for a free, independent and sovereign Ukrainian nation.
Today, Ukrainian National Federation of Canada (Edmonton branch) and Ukrainian Women’s Organization of Canada, Edmonton Society stand together with their Ukrainian community in providing aid to Ukraine and aid to Ukrainian newcomers fleeing the war. Their founding principles have become more important now as ever, with every Ukrainian is fighting against Russia’s terror. We appreciate all the amazing work this organization does and look forward to our future collaborations.
